    Natural Resources Management Corporation (NRM), established in Eureka, California in 1970, is an employee owned certified small business that specializes in forestry and environmental consulting.  NRM is organized into two divisions – a Forestry Division offering a full range of services from due diligence investigations/assessments to land management and an Environmental Division that conducts biological surveys and assessments and provides guidance and documentation for regulatory compliance and land use planning.  NRM provides multi-disciplinary professional services in natural resources inventory, analysis, appraisal, planning and management with experience throughout the western and southeastern United States, and in Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Iran, Chile, Peru and Micronesia.

    NRM’s professional staff includes Registered Professional Foresters, certified timber and forestland appraisers, forestland managers, experienced forestry technicians and a diverse environmental resources staff with specialists in the fields of wildlife, botany, fisheries, geology, hydrology, wetlands and GIS cartography.  For 39 years, NRM has provided services to federal, state and local agencies, private landowners, major timber companies, utility companies, law firms and Native American tribes.

    Our services include wildlife management, watershed analyses, fisheries management, geological assessments, watershed management, watershed rehabilitation, botanical surveys, feasibility studies, environmental assessments, vegetative analysis, timber and timberland appraisals, litigation support, timber inventories, forest management, logging engineering, timber and log marketing and complete mapping services.  Services commonly involve regulatory compliance; the application of, and adherence to, a combination of local, state and federal environmental regulations.  Consequently, NRM performs all of the permitting requirements and documentation necessary to comply with applicable regulations including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water and Air Acts, Endangered Species Act, Coastal Act and California Forest Practice Act, to name a few.

    NRM’s professional staff of resource specialists includes experienced botanists, wildlife and fisheries biologists, geologists, hydrologists, forest land appraisers, forest inventory specialists, logging engineers and general forest managers.  The support staff provides computer, cartographic and clerical support personnel.  NRM’s facilities are well equipped with a mapping and drafting section, computer facilities, Map Info™ and Arc View™ Geographic Information Systems (GIS), a resource library, a fleet of vehicles and an inventory of field equipment. 

    NRM’s staff stays involved in professional organizations such as the California Licensed Foresters Association, the Appraisal Institute, the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, California Botanical Society, the Society of Wetland Scientists, the Geological Society of America,  the Wildlife Society, Pacific Seabird Group, American Fisheries Society, Salmonid Restoration Federation, the California Native Plant Society, the Association of Consulting Foresters, Society of American Foresters and the Western Forestry and Conservation Association.  This ensures current knowledge of changes in the sciences as well as technical and governmental regulations.
